Growing up in a farmhousehold that did not have central air conditioning was tough.
- Thankfully, I was a kid who certainly did not know any better.
I actually thought that air conditioning was only for rich people! In reality, my great friend and I were certainly doing pretty well for ourselves on the farm, plus my parents certainly could have afforded air conditioning if they wanted it, however, they were plus still are the rustic type plus the parsimonious type, so I did not get air conditioning throughout my childhood. In the summer, I actually noticed the heat, then windows would be up in the evening, which gave some relief. To this morning, I like to do it every now plus then to hear the siren song of the crickets chirping plus the owls hooting to put me to sleep, then another way I beat the heat as a youngster was staying hydrated. As cheap as my parents were when it came to temperature control, my great friend and I never lacked for ice freezing water, tea, or lemonade! I also really enjoyed ice freezing showers in the evenings after a morning of romping around outside in the dust! You might know that I was just as inclined as my parents were when I grew up to eschew central heating plus air conditioning. In making that assumption, you would most entirely be incorrect! I entirely cherish the a/c, plus I feel spoiled by it in my adult years. I take great care of my a/c as well, because I consider it a luxury that is worth taking care of!
