Overnight Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C worker’s story of a lizard rescue

Being on call for overnight shift for an Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C business has its ups plus downs.

On the plus side, the people I was with and I don’t get a lot of calls late at night plus those calls the people I was with and I do get pay top dollar.

I also love working alone plus not being bothered. On the down side, I do love my sleep, last year I got an interesting call, usually, when the people I was with and I tell people how much an emergency, late-night visit will cost them, they opt to schedule something for normal corporation hours but not this lady. She immediately said she didn’t care what it cost but that I must come out now. She then proceeded to tell myself and others the problem. Her son’s leopard gecko had escaped plus was inside of the ductwork. Her son was autistic plus this lizard meant the world to him plus it unquestionably must be extracted from the ducts now. I hopped in my truck plus got her their new home in under 20 minutes. I used a scope to thread through the ductwork plus find the little leopard gecko. This took some time but thankfully the little fellow didn’t transport far when I took apart the ductwork plus got him out. The lady was happy, the boy stopped crying plus I was gleeful to help. I only charged them the official hourly rate, not the emergency rate. Oh, plus I put screens over all of the vents in the new home too plus I sold them at cost… Now the lizard can’t get into the ductwork again plus I can go back new home plus snooze a little until the next call comes in.
