Lately, I have been considering creating my own HVAC dealership. There is a huge lack of heating and air conditioning specialists in our area. The last HVAC company we had here, moved away. The owner packed up and moved the office to a new city. The problem is that now that they live out of the area, they are able to charge for mileage. Depending on the day and time of day, they may do more than triple the cost of mileage and service fees. I think this is heinous and it needs to be stopped. So many people here have tried to get service, but they don’t have anyone to do it. The other company justifies their high charges by saying they have twenty miles to run, but I don’t believe it. I talked to my brother and he is sure we can open a HVAC company of our own. He has his HVAC certification which means we already have one technician for the job. He knows of a couple other HVAC techs who are looking for jobs. I know that I need to get a license and tax ID for the company. We need a couple of service vans to carry all of the equipment and a HVAC supplier. Once we get these things, it should only take a couple of weeks before we can open the HVAC company. I’m thinking we should start advertising now, so the people of our town know they will soon have a HVAC company that won’t charge them their arms and legs for service.
