Ductless heat pump is helpful while I’m sick

Last July, I came down with a flu that kept me in bed for four straight days.

Along with a high fever, I suffered a sore throat, headache, congestion, and body aches.

Between blowing my nose, sneezing and coughing, I frequently ran to the bathroom to throw up. I’d get super cold, shiver uncontrollably and pile on as many blankets as possible. Within a few minutes, I’d start sweating and kick all of the blankets off. I was fortunate to have a ductless heat pump installed in my bedroom. There is a streamlined air handler mounted up high on the wall. It is one of six air handlers located in various rooms in the house. Because each air handler features an independent thermostat, I was able to make adjustments without affecting the other rooms. This was super helpful because I continually raised or lowered the temperature setting. The ductless heat pump is controlled through a wireless remote. I could stay huddled in bed and change the temperature, fan speed and even humidity levels. I’m relieved that the system is energy efficient and keeps running costs low. I sometimes switched between heating and cooling mode. Despite the compact size of the equipment, the little heat pump is quite powerful and can quickly reach the desired comfort level. Although it runs quietly, the operational noise is just loud enough to drown out exterior noises such as barking dogs, tweeting birds and annoying neighbors. The heat pump also offers effective air filtration. Since I was coughing and sneezing a bunch of germs into the air, I was very happy about that.
