While I have never exactly been adventurous, that is not the reason I have stayed put where I grew up.
I assume I simply care about where I live and I am fortunate to have lived my whole entire life within a 30 mile radius.
Of course, I have been on holidays elsewhere. I care about the South and all of the sunlight there but, I could never actually live there, I don’t think. My region is one with very long winters made cozy by superb Heating, Ventilation plus A/C heating. The snow and the freezing cold are something that I could never do without. My partner is the same way and she IS from the South. The two of us met in school. She came up here to go to university and I was always able to drive to campus from our parents’ home. My partner fell in love with the whole area, all the people, and the culture. It was as though the South fell right off of her, and I couldn’t believe how hastily she embraced all that goes with winter. From the beginning, she was all over the Winter preparations. The Heating, Ventilation, and the furnace was professionally diagnosed by a licensed Heating, Ventilation and A/C technician and my partner enjoys watching and asking questions about how the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C system works. In fact, we’ve been doing quite a bit of research on Heating, Ventilation plus A/C methods lately because the two of us are in the early stages of planning our home. Our kids are out of the house now so we’re downsizing. The beach house that we’re building will have geothermal Heating, Ventilation and A/C for heating and cooling. This Heating, Ventilation and A/C system will be a bit more expensive to pay for upfront but the utility savings will last us for over 30 years and this will be our forever house.
