The fact that almost every mode of company that I go in to is completely impersonal just bums me out.
There is no more going to the man or woman you know for a tune up plus maybe an oil change.
All of that is so complicated now that we all just have to go to the dealer. I don’t even interact with anyone at the bank now but maybe a handful of times throughout the year. Everything is done online now. The lack of having someone you trust for a company relationship is a sizable misfortune in my mind. The only one I know of is the Heating plus Air Conditioning business I do my business with. Jeez, our own doctor doesn’t even spend more than 7 minutes with me when I see him. At least with the Heating and Air Conditioning dealer, we go back a few years and we have a mutual appreciation for each other. When I moved to the area, nearly 20 years ago, I sought out a reliable Heating plus Air Conditioning technician to replace the Heating and Air Conditioning in my house. That outdated Heating plus Air Conditioning on our new home was just the worst. And so when I purchased the home, I thought I could get at least a year or more out of the Heating and Air Conditioning unit. I was so completely mistaken, though! And so I had to scramble to find someone I could trust. And, I did. Back then, our Heating and Air Conditioning technician was just starting out. She was a one woman show, but she was so professional and she loved Heating plus Air Conditioning. It was a simple choice for me. Indeed, it’s been a simple choice to maintain that company relationship all these years later.
