How I named my band Tornado

When I was in high school band, I had a lot of competition and I needed to find a way to stick out of the crowd. I badly wanted to be recognized, and it was humiliating when you’re singing and people pass you by without a care in the world. It didn’t help that the few concerts I did have, I was sweating to death. Finally, we had our big break and invited to play some songs at a concert for teens our age. A lot of people were going to be there, so I knew I couldn’t screw this up. I discussed solutions to our problems with my other band members, and we decided to take high powered fans with us to help our heating problem. While we played onstage the high powered fans blew us all away, almost literally. The fans kicked up a powerful cooling breeze and it made us feel like we were in the middle of a tornado, it was an incredible and a very powerful feeling. This seemed to be all that we needed to get the attention of the people, it made us stick out from the rest of the high school bands. People began to cheer when we got on stage, and it felt so great to finally be recognized. We decided to name the band Tornado, to match the stormy feeling. We also became pretty popular after that, and converted our dad’s van into a personal tour bus. We upgraded our little tour bus with better air conditioning and loud speakers to blast our music. It’s funny to think that all this happened from just trying to stay cool, who knew that a cooling method would make us so popular?
