An AC on 1 side, a space furnace on the other

At night, I prefer being entirely freezing & he enjoys to keep with the surrounding air temperature quite warm

Occasionally, being an adult means making adult compromises, but being in a new relationship means making crucial decisions together & constantly respecting the other person’s quality of life, and however, residing under 1 roof can complicate this flowery ideal, for 1 thing, if you have differing ideas about indoor air temperature control, you are legitimately going to run into some challenges residing in 1 home together. I know that my bestie & I have had crucial difficulties overcoming our differences in air temperature control settings. He is regularly harshly hot, & I am regularly harshly cold. In the middle of the summer, I am covered in goosebumps & in the middle of the Winter time he’s still dripping with sweat through his shirt, and every one of us consistently confrontation over the Heating, Ventilation & A/C settings in the house, because neither 1 of us feels prefer the people I was with and I should live in discomfort. The situation only gets more complicated at night. Suddenly, our air temperature preferences completely switch. At night, I prefer being entirely freezing & he enjoys to keep with the surrounding air temperature quite warm. Every one of us struggled to sleep in the same bed for multiple years, until the people I was with and I finally found a compromise that works for both of us. He keeps a space furnace blocked in on his side of the bed, & I use a small portable cooling system to provide cool air on my side. It’s not perfect, but it allows us to both get a restful night of sleep rather than fighting over the covers & kicking each other “on accident.” Every one of us wish that it was more energy efficient to find a comfortable middle ground, but we’re blissful that we’re still together.
