I had always thought that being an actor would be a fun job.
I still think it would be fun, but I no longer want to be an actor.
I found out long ago that I wasn’t cut out for this career. My parents told me that I did ‘’nice when I was in a school play. I knew that meant that I stunk. I still wanted to work in the movie business, but I had to find something to do that didn’t have me working as an actor. For my summer job, I was able to find a job working in a movie studio. I knew that I would be going for coffee and just being the fetch boy. Anything cast and crew needed, I would go for it. I loved going on the sets. They had one movie set where they were making a movie that had the actors climbing a snowy mountain to make a rescue. I marvelled at how they could get an indoor studio so cold that they had ice and snow on the mountain. I knew we were inside, but it felt like a mountain top. I asked someone how they were able to get it so cold. He told me they had excellent air conditioning. The air conditioning was set so they could get frigid temperatures and not just cool temperatures. I was amazed at how the air conditioning was able to work in this manner. It wasn’t like any air conditioning we had in our home. I was beginning to think HVAC was something I would like to do when I graduated.
