I won’t bother to upgrade my A/C appliance until it no longer functions

I have managed to keep everything in my dwelling running just like it was when my parents willed it to me in the late 1990s.

I didn’t do any remodelling and only upgraded their ancient refrigerator.

Despite requests to do otherwise, I left up the ancient wallpaper and didn’t actually do any indoor painting. I ripped out all of the old carpets and upgraded them with quality laminate flooring. After that, I was basically done with the interior of the dwelling. Sure, I planted flowers and trees over the years in the yard and slowly sculpted the landscaping, however the inside of the dwelling stayed essentially the same with no sizable fluctuations. After getting current furniture a few years back, I had made no real improvements or updates to the old dwelling. My neighbor works in the office of a local heating and cooling supplier. He tells myself and others regularly that I should really think about replacing the old cooling appliance in our dwelling. It has been there since before my parents passed away and hasn’t shown any complications since. I told him that I have a serviceman out to the dwelling on service calls every 3 months to make sure it’s genuinely working without problems or malfunctions. Surely anyone would take a current Heating, Ventilation & A/C appliance if money was no issue, although I can’t afford the $6k it would cost for a dwelling the size of this one. Until the central cooling appliance breaks from constant use, I don’t assume I can justify spending the money to upgrade it. I will just keep running this HVAC appliance until the last day that it can handle.
