I live in a part of the country that has very cold weather most of the year. During the winter months the cold weather is really intense and you have to take extra precautions to stay warm. Most families like to have an HVAC tech come out to their house and service their heating systems before the weather gets bad so they can make sure they are not without heat during a bad storm. I like to take a different approach. I bought a few space heaters a couple of years ago so that I could use them when it gets too cold inside the house. I don’t like to have my heating system turned on all the way because it can get very expensive and the space heaters help me save money. I don’t have any kids running around my house that is why I am fine with having the space heaters. Space heaters can be very dangerous if you don’t take caution. You should never have a space heater turned on in an unattended room and you have to make sure that you don’t have anything that could catch on fire next to the space heater. I have had one close call with my space heater and my curtains but thankfully I was in the room and was able to stop the problem before it got out of hand. Making sure that you take these steps with your space heaters can ensure that you don’t accidentally catch anything in your house on fire.
