I don’t want my lawn damaged by the roofers

We’ve had a bit of roof maintenance done over the years but it’s getting to the point now that we need to have the entire roof replaced.

It’s not the cost of a new roof that worries me so much.

I’m more worried about the damage that the roofers did to my neighbor’s lawn when he had his roof replaced. They threw all those old shingles all over the lawn and left them there until the new roof was installed completely. That was a few days with hundreds of shingles all over the lawn. His lawn has still not recovered from that. I take great pride in my yard. Not to brag, but I have won a few local competitions for having the prettiest yard. I don’t have just grass, I have lots of native plants and flowers all over the place. I can’t have roof shingles all over my lawn. And yet, I really need to take care of my house too. I can’t have my roof leaking either. I decided to go ahead and try a different roofing company than the one my neighbor used. I told them up front about what had happened was my neighbor’s roofing shingles and explained that that absolutely cannot happen at my house. They were very understanding and assured me that I would not have roofing shingles thrown all over my yard. A week later, they came out to do my roof replacement. True to their word, they kept the old shingles all nice and orderly on my driveway. They picked them up and got rid of them the same day that they removed them as well.
