Different weights of jump ropes offer a great workout

I recently purchased an innovative jump rope system that provides several types of ropes.

Each rope is a specific weight and links to a uniform set of handles.

It is super simple and easy to remove and attach a new rope. The different weights of rope switch up the intensity of the workout. The lightest rope is only a quarter pound, quite thin and rotatoes very swiftly. This requires faster jumping and gets my heart rate up very quickly. The half pound rope is a bit thicker and moves slightly slower. It is the ideal rope for achieving new styles of tricks. With this rope, I have achieved crossovers and I’m working on double-unders. Double-unders are when I jump into the air and the rope passes beneath my feet twice before I land. It’s rather exhausting plus difficult. I watched a tutorial video online but am still having some trouble mastering it. I enjoy trying and accomplishing harder skills with the jump rope. Striving toward a goal keeps me interested. I also have purchased a one-pound as well as a two-pound rope that swing much slower and work the muscles of the arms, shoulders and chest. I don’t use the heavier ropes as frequently. Most of the time, I prefer to do my own thing instead of sticking to a set program. I jump for the length of whatever song is playing and switch up the type of jumps. I do high knees and alternate feet. I jump in a circle and often run with the rope. If I’m not feeling especially energetic, I make use of an app I have on our smartphone. The app guides me through a jump rope workout incorporating the variations of ropes. These programs often add in push ups, squats and mountain climbers. The workouts are extremely tiring.
