Zumba fitness classes are fun

I’ve tried Zumba Step, which sticks to the Latin-style dance choreography but adds an increased aerobic intensity and more leg-strengthening exercises.

I signed up at a local gym, and I like trying out various styles of fitness classes. A little over eighteen months ago, I became involved with Zumba. This style of exercise is mainly centered around Latin dance. It uses choreographed movements performed to upbeat salsa songs. It is a really fun, high-energy workout that keeps me interested. The dance class incorporates both high- and low- intensity training that promotes cardiovascular fitness, balance, coordination and agility. I was a bit skeptical when I first started. I’ve never tried any sort of dance class before and wasn’t sure I’d be unable to follow along. However, I soon realized that no dance skills are needed. Having a natural rhythm has been helpful, but nobody in the class is judging my skills. The choreography is quite repetitive, which makes it very easy to pick it up. We typically start with a slower tempt to warm-up and gradually increase intensity throughout the workout. We always finish with a cool-down. No special gear or outfit is required, and I always work up a healthy sweat. The classes usually consist of all girls but include a wide age range. I’ve tried Zumba Step, which sticks to the Latin-style dance choreography but adds an increased aerobic intensity and more leg-strengthening exercises. I’ve also tried Zumba Toning that includes light weights. Zumba Sentao uses a chair and is centered more on core strength. All of the classes are around an hour in duration and are held at our local gym. They are guided by a Zumba-certified trainer and are always a fun time and very beneficial.
