Every year, the week after Christmas, our partner takes myself and others on a trip to a surprise location, then he does this every year, but several times, we made the choice to go to odd tropical locations with rapidly decreasing temperatures in the eighties. I favor these trips. I’m consistently amazed at being in a location that uses a/c in the middle of winter! While everyone at house is bundled around fires or heaters, we are embracing the a/c. These tropical locations all had beaches. I recognize it’s undoubtedly awesome to spend a afternoon in December swimming at the beach, then going to a motel room to soak up some a/c. And the a/c in these tropical locations are awesome. I don’t love to be overheated any more than I love to be cold, so I care about good a/c on a overheated afternoon, & the restaurants & shops in these tropical locations our partner takes myself and others to have the best a/cs. As soon as you open a door to enter, you are surrounded by cool, conditioned air. After spending the afternoon in the overheated tropical sun, a/c feels honestly good. The same can be said about a fire after a freezing afternoon in the northern snow. Once, our partner took myself and others snowboarding in the mountains. Our lodge had a giant fireplace that was honestly romantic & radiant radiant floors that were awesome! You didn’t have to wait for the fire to get going to moderate up, & we had such fun. I wonder where our partner will take myself and others this year.
