Evolving and succeeding with online marketing

There is no doubt that I tend to be more old fashioned than most of my peers.

While I am only in my early 50’s, I tend to lean toward my dad’s generation on keeping it simple as far as life and business.

This view and perspective also had a lot to do with me starting my own HVAC business. I worked hard for someone else for nearly a decade before realizing that going out on my own was the way I wanted to work. There is simplicity in having to count on yourself for the success and making a living. However, I have learned lately that it’s also good to embrace the technology age that we are in. To that end, I took up a suggestion to look into digital marketing and using SEO and SEM tools to market online. My advertising has been fairly limited as most of my business has been by word of mouth or from general contractors that I have a good rapport with. While that gets me a fair amount of work, it hasn’t really grown my business all that much. Now that my son is prepared to take over the company in the coming years, I am listening to him about growing the company. It seems abundantly clear that digital marketing is a direction we need to go. My son and I sat down with an online marketing business to better understand what digital marketing could do for us. It became readily apparent that search engine marketing provided the tools to get where we were wanting to go.
