I thought the control device temperature seemed a little high

When I came to work one day, the indoor air pollen levels seemed much warmer and humid than usual.

  • I thought it was the temperature outside and I didn’t guess about the temperature again until one of my co-workers started to complain.

I agreed that the temperature seemed a bit warm so I got up from my deck and I went to the kitchen to find the control device and adjust the temperature. I located the control device in the kitchen and I realized there was a small plastic box surrounding the control unit. The plastic box had a lock that required a key. The temperature on the digital display was 72 degrees. The normal temperature inside the office is usually 71 degrees. It’s no wonder pretty much everyone of us was uncomfortable. I knew the boss put a lock on the box to keep us from decreasing the temperature. I Marched into the office and I demanded some answers. I’ve been emplotted by the corporation for numerous years and they paty us peanuts. My boss tried to dodge the question while he moved from side to side in his seat. I left the office and I called the human resources department. I filed a complaint over the indoor air temperatures and I had thirteen additional employees sign the letter. The human resource director met with me a few days later and tried to explain how cost effective it was to change the indoor temperatures. I easily didn’t love saving money when all of us were perspiring in the office all day. I told the director that I would call the union representative if they didn’t get rid of the lock and key.
