I got a new heating and cooling unit installed by my neighbor.
My neighbor and I were both in the home repair industry.
I have worked on heaters, plumbing systems, electrical wiring and roofs. I was just getting into air conditioning installation or HVAC. My neighbor was new in the HVAC trade also and we both got to work installing. I was going to upgrade the unit on my home for the summer season just to be safe and sure everything was gonna be cool. I was a little apprehensive at first to let Bob work on my air conditioning unit, but he convinced me. The issue is Bob went out of town and I had to call someone else to come fix the air conditioning unit. Three days after the HVAC was installed, my girlfriend’s kids were at the home and said the system went out. A brand new air conditioner should not go out, and my neighbor Bob was out of town for the weekend and told me I would have to wait. This was upsetting and I decided instead of paying or waiting, I would fix the air conditioner myself. Heating and cooling was my job after all. It took me 8 hours, I got the house cool for the kids and reminded my neighbor he needed practice. Bob said he would make it up to me or pay for my part of the garbage bill we split. I’m just glad it wasn’t the winter and we weren’t without heat in the middle of a harsh snow storm. Heating and cooling isn’t easy but it’s very vital and is a highly sought out luxury. The next time I would have to fix my home’s HVAC unit, I’m going to be much more skilled at fixing air conditioning units.
