Choosing an air purifier for my home

Because of the coronavirus scare, I got way more concerned about indoor air quality.

I started noticing how long cooking smells linger in my home. I became aware of dust floating in the air and accumulating on surfaces. Everything from condensation on the windows to my kids tending to sneeze whenever the heating or cooling system started up had me worried. Reading up on the subject just made it worse. Looking at pictures of dust mites and learning how many of them are probably living in my pillow was horrifying. Although I’m vigilant about changing air filters and scheduling maintenance for the furnace and air conditioner, these efforts weren’t enough to set my mind at ease. I wanted to be proactive. I researched the different types of indoor air quality products available. I studied the pros and cons of dehumidifiers, humidifiers, UV lights and ventilators. I finally chose an air purifier that installed right into the ductwork to treat the conditioned air as it passes through. This type of air purifier sends out specialized ions that kill viruses, bacteria, fungus and other allergens. It also causes particulates to glob together and become large enough to be safely filtered out. The air purifier is effective against odors, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander, VOCs and more. Since having it installed, I’ve recognized a definite improvement in the cleanliness, smell and comfort level of the home. I am hopeful my family will suffer from fewer health complaints because of it. I am convinced that I’ve had fewer headaches since getting the air purifier.
