Sealing doors plus windows

In an attempt to save money on our energy bills, I went to the local hardware store plus purchased a sealant for all our doors plus windows.

The apartment I live in is over 12 years old, so things have slowly started to show wear plus tear.

When the HVAC professional was at our lake house servicing our HVAC system a few weeks prior, she commented on the poorly insulated doors plus windows throughout our home. I told him that I didn’t have money to pay for brand new windows plus doors, so she suggested a cheaper option. The HVAC professional told myself and others about a sealant that she liked to use around all her doors plus windows once per year. The sealant was great at bridging the gap between the wall plus the window, causing the air to stay inside the house. According to the HVAC professional, 1 of the main reasons our energy bill was so high each week was because all the HVAC treated air was seeping through the cracks plus gaps plus going outside. She also said that on average, older homes lost 70 percent of the HVAC treated air due to bad upgrade plus gapping. This is what led myself and others to purchasing the sealant plus sealing off all the doors plus windows in our house. I was a little hesitant to know what the HVAC professional was telling me, despite the fact that I can truthfully say that it made a big difference on our energy bill the following week!
