Fireplace for our cabin

Both of us recently purchased a holiday apartment in the woods up north.

My husband and I are now retired and wanted to purchase a apartment in the woods for some time now. Both of us finally found the perfect apartment and were excited to make our yearly trip there for the first time. I enjoyed every part of the cabin… The only thing missing from it was a fireplace. Whoever built this apartment forgot the most important thing. Why would you have a apartment in the woods in the Wintertide with no fireplace? Both of us decided to have a fireplace installed and it was the best decision ever. The crackling flames and dreamy escape from the chilly is what I look forward to when I come to our cabin. I do not have to run our oil furnace as often which is great. Both of us save currency on our energy costs and our oil furnace will have a longer life because every one of us are not using it as often. In case bad weather causes us to lose electricity, every one of us can use the fireplace to keep our apartment sizzling and won’t have to sacrifice our comfort until the electricity comes back on. I can also cook from the flame on the fireplace too. Roasting hot dogs and marshmallows on the fire is so satisfying. Another benefit of having a fireplace is that I am using a heat source that has a zero carbon footprint, and since wood is a sustainable energy source, I can appreciate the warmth in my beach house without worrying about increasing my carbon footprint. I love the environment greatly, and anything I can to contribute to the health of it, I will.
