The gas furnace was running for seriously long cycles. It rarely shut off plus yet the apartment often felt slightly cold. Raising the temperature control setting didn’t make much of an improvement. There simply wasn’t enough sizzling air coming from the vents. There was also a giant difference between the temperature in one room plus another. Since the duct plan is installed inside walls plus ceilings, I was uneasy about how to access it plus make repairs. I l earned that there is a rather innovative method of duct sealing available. It’s called Aeroseal plus works by targeting the holes in the plan from the inside. The professional first blocks off the supply plus return vents, then pumps highly pressurized air into the ducts. The air leaks out of all the multiple holes, cracks plus imperfections. This air contains adhesive polymer particles that stick to the edges, steadily build up plus form a tight seal. The whole process takes a couple of minutes. The polymer particles are non-toxic plus leave no residue behind. The Aeroseal repair is warranted for 10 years. Once it’s completed, the professional tests the ductwork plus verifies the results. My concern was finding a supplier in our section who is licensed to perform Aeroseal duct sealing.
