We didn’t get the house we wanted.
It was a bitter pill to swallow, too, Jenny and I put everything we had into securing the financing we needed only to get outbid at the last minute.
We had a couple of other places that we liked, but we had our hearts set on that one. Since we had to settle on the house, we actually spent a lot less money than we had planned. Jenny and Idecided to take some of the extra money and invest in making the interior of the house as perfect as it could be. I knew that Jenny was partial to the Fifth Avenue style of furnishings, so I said that we could use that to decorate our new house. If the place itself wasn’t our dream house, then with smart interior design ideas, and the right art and furnishings the inside could still be a dream. I myself do not give a crap one way or the other what style of furniture we have, as long as there is a big sectional sofa for me to lay on and watch football. If wood furniture or artisanal coffee tables are going to make Jenny happy, then I am all for it. Jenny surprised me by deciding against the Fifth Avenue style we had discussed, and went with something called French Provincial Manor instead. I got my huge leather sofa and my big screen TV, so that is all I will ever need in terms of interior design. Jenny is happy, and that’s all that matters to me.
