This is a quote I saw in the washroom in a cafe where I used to do open mics back close to 13 years ago.
It made me rethink my goals in life & switch from chasing the American Dream to pursuing the arts just for the actual passion of it.
Ever since jumping into this field, life has taken me on some interesting rides across the globe. I have done comedy in a few different 2 countries & experienced a lot of things I wouldn’t have if I just stayed at my engineering task. I know life is about experiences & numerous attachments & I’m going for it all. But when it comes to heating repairs, I don’t know if I want to experience any of the headaches of doing it on my own. There are a lot of people who truly know way more than I do about repairing these complex systems & it gives me more time to focus on the things that truly matter, like the pursuit of a passionate work. I can’t possibly imagine being a heating & cooling specialist when what I truly like doing is performing on stage. I was a painting contractor 15 years ago before getting into comedy & I was extremely unhappy because I knew there was more to life than what I was working on. You have to find something that totally energizes you & for some it may be repairing furnaces & heating equipment, which is fine. Just follow your heart & let it guide you in the direction which will make you extremely happy. If your dream is to own a heating dealership then go for it!
