Home gym isn’t heated or cooled

My workout space at my home is not heated or cooled.

For the majority of the year, it’s not an issue. The climate in my area is normally mild and pleasant. I am located far enough south to never see below freezing temperatures or snow. In the worst of the winter, the temperature can get down into the forties. At the peak of summer, the heat and humidity can be tough. There’s a lanai constructed across the back of my house. It is the ideal place to exercise. The size is sufficient for my needs with a smooth cement floor. The entire back wall is made of screens that bring in a nice breeze. The screen provides a lovely view of the lake behind my house. I have purchased a yoga mat, jump rope, hand weights, weight bench and mini trampoline that help with my workouts. If the heat becomes too much, I start up an electric fan. It doesn’t offer much relief. I run the fan at the highest speed and position myself directly in front of it. I still end up drenched in sweat. It’s nearly impossible to get motivated when I feel hot and sticky. The conditions make me sluggish and slow. I make an effort to get up early and exercise right away to avoid the highest heat of the day. In the winter, I wait to workout, hoping the temperature will warm up. I wear layers of clothes. Sometimes, it’s just too cold to access the lanai. My muscles refuse to warm up and my joints are extra tight. It increases the risk of injury. On the really cold day, I workout inside the heated house. This isn’t the best because there is limited space. I have to be careful so that I don’t cause damage.
