Running is my favorite type of exercise

I exercise everyday and make a point to vary the styles of activity.

While I prefer high impact cardio, I know it’s essential to allow my joints a rest. I make an effort to focus on all the different muscles and incorporate a variety of strength exercises. My preferred style of exercise is jogging. I appreciate the simplicity of it. I don’t require extra gear. I check the weather forecast and try to stay away from rain and overly hot and humid conditions. I’ve purchased a good quality pair of running sneakers and I upgrade them every year. I’ve also bought good quality clothing that’s specifically for running. The fabric accommodates freedom of movement and pulls moisture away from the body. Before a run, I make time to properly warm up. I loosen up my joints and stretch my muscles. I circle my feet, hands and shoulders. I play music for motivation throughout the run. It’s a perfect way to clear my head, de-stress and burn a lot of calories in a minimum amount of time. I like that running activates a wide range of muscles, elevates my heart rate and works my lungs. I have a running path right nearby my house. The path is paved and motorized vehicles are not allowed. It travels 50 miles in both directions. The path cuts through a wooded area where there is beautiful scenery. I often run between 6 to 10 miles. After the run, I finish with a cool down. I take the opportunity to stretch again and make sure to drink lots of water.
