What to do With an Injured Shoulder

I have a sharp stabbing pain in the back of my shoulder from where I dislocated it last night.

I spiked a volleyball and my shoulder popped in and out of the socket quickly but the pain is very bad now.

I’ve done it several times playing and I know that it is a matter of time till I need to call it quits to the sport I’ve been playing for 30 years. I just don’t know what else to do if I’m not able to play ball but I will find something else. My whole life I’ve worked in the air conditioning business and played volleyball. That is all that I have done pretty much my whole working life and now I may have to give up volleyball for good. I guess I could get a job at the cooling corporation and focus on earning money but I will feel an empty spot inside of me if I can’t play the sport that I love anymore. This isn’t the first time it has happened, and I made it through the other times, so I just need to be patient and kind to myself while my body works on healing itself. Maybe this weekend I could go buy a wireless thermostat and try to install it because my old dial thermostat is shot and really needs to be replaced. I’m just not sure how much I should be moving my right arm, as it really hurts a lot when I try to move it at all. Rest is probably the answer.
