The ductwork wasn’t lined up right

Now I know

My brothers buy up old properties and either flip them or rent them out. I work for them part time fixing up the places. I don’t have very much technical knowledge in plumbing, electric, heating or air conditioning. I am strong, handy and willing to work hard though. I am good at laying down tile, painting a room, sanding some walls or assembling cabinets. Recently I was scrapping huge, arched ceilings to remove the popcorn. The sun and water really made the stuff wedge there. I got them super smooth and painted them white. Nobody wanted that job due to how high up it was. I had to stick my head in the skylights and paint them white as well. It was like 100 degrees there. When you are up by the ceiling you really see a lot of things. I noticed the wood beams weren’t in the best of shape. I also noticed that whoever placed the ductwork and cut the hole for the vent weren’t the same person. The ductwork didn’t line up with the vent opening. It actually was only about halfway exposed. So that meant that when the AC turned on, not all the air was shooting out of the vent. Most of it was trapped inside the wall. I always wondered why the living rooms were so tasty, hot. Now I know. I told my brothers about the issue and they agreed with the hide everything method. I put a new vent cover on it and the house went for sale.
