Last month our entire family threw me a surprise retirement celebration. I had told our wifey countless times that I didn’t want to be the center of attention, and I thought that there was no way possible that she would be able to idea it without me noticing. I arrived apartment from our last afternoon of work at the HVAC ventilation, heating and cooling corporation that I had worked at for twenty years to find our entire family in our kitchen! There was enough cake and other sweet treats to feet one hundred people at least, and the celebration was amazing but the thing that made it extra special was that our multiple sons were able to make it back apartment to celebrate. Both of our sons carried on the family tradition of toiling as certified HVAC maintenance techs and their careers had taken them halfway across the country. When I asked our boys how in the hell they were able to get trip time in the middle of the stressed Summer season, they told me that their managers at the HVAC store will constantly give leniency when their employees family have also served in the HVAC industry. All of us had so much alcohol and sweets and adult beverages that I don’t guess that I will be able to touch another slice of cake in a easily long time. I sure am going to miss going to work every afternoon, but being able to celebrate the good times is much better than feeling worried about them being over. That’s the way I see it anyway!
