One thing I never realized was how pricey it was to repair radiant heated floors when they break on you. I found this out recently when I accidentally dropped something very heavy on my radiant heated floors which caused them to need repair. I had called the local heating and air conditioning company to send out a certified heating and air conditioning specialist to repair the radiant heated floors. The repair went pretty smoothly, but I was pretty surprised to see the bill and find out that they cost almost double what it cost to repair a central heating and air conditioning system. This was something I was not ready for. So what I had to do was put it on my credit card because I could not afford to pay for it in cash. I only had enough in cash to pay for what a central heating and air conditioning system would have cost to repair. In the future now I will know what it costs to repair radiant heated floors and I will be ready. But hopefully I will not have the need to get my radiant heated floors repaired because I will be more careful with them next time and not drop something so heavy on them! That is the thing with radiant heated floors. You have to be careful as to what you drop on them and remember that they are now radiant heated floors and not just your regular tile or wood flooring that you were used to before in the past.
