Most people don’t think about where the numbers on their thermostat come from.
I used to think they were painted on a rotary wheel.
I know that our old thermostat was like that, but not the present one. I was really upset when I came home and the numbers weren’t showing up on our thermostat. I thought that maybe there was a problem with our furnace, but I knew I was wrong with that guess. My home was warm and maybe even a bit too warm. That was how I realized there weren’t any numbers on our thermostat. I was going to turn down the temperature on the thermostat. I didn’t know if I was turning on the heating or turning it down. I could have been turning on the air conditioning for all I knew. I was so upset that I was ready to cry. I called my husband and he told me to call the HVAC company. I called the HVAC company and they asked me what kind of thermostat I wanted. I told them I wanted them to fix the thermostat and the man on the other end of the phone laughed. He told me it would probably cost more to fix the thermostat than it would be to buy a new one. As long as I needed a new thermostat, I asked them about Smart Thermostats. I thought this would be a really cool addition to our HVAC system. Within a couple of hours, they had brought, the new thermostat and had it installed. It still had a digital readout, but there wasn’t much I could do about that. I bought the new thermostat.
