The worst part about getting the ductwork cleaned in our office building, is that we usually have it done through the week.
That kind of upsets me because it is very distracting to have thirty men running around the building.
They are ripping apart all of the air vents and making a big mess. We know the ductwork needs to be cleaned, but why can’t they wait until Saturday like with most office buildings. I found out it was because the owners think it is more expensive to have the ductwork cleaned on a weekend. From my point of view, it is worse to have it done when there are people working in the office. Many people want to watch what is going on. I have a few single women and they all want to go out and watch the HVAC technicians. I’m not sure if I could keep myself from watching them, if it weren’t that I was the manager of this office. I am trying to restrain myself, but I am also watching them as closely as I can. My son is a HVAC technician and he is interested in working in large buildings. Maybe I could get some pointers for him or even the possibility of a job interview with this company. My son is a pretty good HVAC technician and if he had the chance, I am sure he could do the job that these men are doing. Next time they do the cleaning, I think I am going to tell the owners of the building they need to do it on a Saturday. This would be less distractions and less dirt for my employees to be breathing in.
