I have a forced-air furnace in my house. I know that many people do not like forced-air furnaces, but it was the only heating system that I could find that would be able to hook to the same thermostat as my central air conditioning system with the same vents. Most people don’t like these kinds of HVAC units because of the noise, but I purchased the models of the furnace and central air conditioner that came with a whisper-quiet furnace. Unless I am listening closely near the vents, I can’t even hear the furnace or air conditioner running. Besides, I learned a long time ago that furnaces are much cheaper to use than any other type of heating system, especially when the temperatures get extremely cold. Instead of having a common digital thermostat, I have a smart thermostat that can hook to my phone. As long as I have the internet, I can adjust my HVAC units from anywhere. When I leave the house in the morning for work, my thermostat automatically adjusts to use the HVAC units less. Before I get home, my thermostat kicks back into gear, using the HVAC units to prepare my house to my favorite temperature before I get. If I ever get a chance to get back early, I can use my phone to adjust the thermostat manually. I really have a great system.
