You can freeze to death, pipes can freeze and break causing a lot of damage to your home, and people can get sick and die. When your air conditioning breaks down, you have a lot of other things to consider. Air conditioning isn’t something that is necessary to survive. Air conditioning is a convenience to make it more comfortable in your home. Up until the last century, no one had air conditioning and although you got hot and a bit miserable, no one really succumbed just because of lack of air conditioning. People knew how to cope without it. When my air conditioning broke down, I had a difficult time trying to justify taking my savings, or even a loan, to fix the AC. If I needed to have a new air conditioning unit installed, I was going to need to take out a loan. I knew I could probably borrow the money from a relative, if it was necessary, but I had to make the decision if it was necessary. I considered calling the HVAC company, but I knew that I would need to find a way to pay him. I thought I should sweat it out for another month and save throughout the winter so I could afford to buy a new air conditioning unit for my home. Unfortunately, I wasn’t patient enough to do this, nor was I the type who wanted to be uncomfortable.
