Take the furnace; I want a heat pump

I was never one to like the winter weather, but I have lived here for the past ten years.

  • My wife and I moved here when she got her promotion.

There are a lot of great things about living in the north. The people are the kindest and their food is amazing. The summer isn’t nearly as bad as the summers we had back home, but I hated the winter. I spent the first winter hiding out in the house, as close to an air vent as I could get. I don’t think I ever really became acclimated to the long, cold weather. I never forgot to have the furnace cleaned and maintained because there was no way I wanted to go without heating. The snow is beautiful when it first blankets the ground, but then it becomes dirty slush that makes the house a mess. The driveway and sidewalk become nothing but icy messes. The ice and cold eventually got to me and I wanted to be able to feel the sun on my face more than just a few months in the summer. Now that I am back to the southern region, I can wear my shorts and t-shirts all year round. I also traded the furnace that took care of the cold, for my heat pump. I also traded comfortable summers for weeks on end of temperatures near or above 100 degrees. The heat pump gives the best air conditioning imaginable. Even when the air gets cooler and I may need some heating in the winter, the heat pump works really well.
