Every year, the week after Christmas, my husband takes me on a trip to a surprise location.
He does this every year.
Several times, we went to different tropical locations with temperatures in the eighties. I favor these trips. I’m always amazed at being in a place that uses air conditioning in the middle of winter. While everyone at home is bundled around fires or heaters, we are embracing the air conditioning. These tropical locations all had beaches. I think it’s truly awesome to spend a day in December swimming at the beach, then going to a motel room to soak up some air conditioning. And the air conditioning in these tropical locations are awesome. I don’t like to be hot any more than I like to be cold, so I appreciate good air conditioning on a hot day, and the restaurants and shops in these tropical locations my husband takes me to have the best air conditioning systems. As soon as you open a door to enter, you are surrounded by cool, conditioned air. After spending the day in the hot tropical sun, air conditioning feels really good. The same can be said about a fire after a cold day in the northern snow. Once, my husband took me snowboarding in the mountains. Our cabin had a big fireplace that was really romantic and radiant heated floors that were awesome. You didn’t have to wait for the fire to get going to warm up, and we had such fun. I wonder where my husband will take me this year.
