All I wanted her to do was call the HVAC business.

Now that I have gotten older, I use words and phrases that make me wonder if I have become my father. My teenagers roll their eyup at me whenever I come off with some off the wall statement. The other day, I was looking for the number for the HVAC business. With winter almost over, I wanted to prepare my air conditioning unit before I needed it. I went through all of my company cards, hoping to find the phone number. My child asked what I was looking for and I told her. I said that I wanted to have the servicing of the air conditioning unit completed. She reminded me that she had put the phone number into my contact list on the iphone. I believe I had dismissed this information, since I couldn’t see the print on the iphone. I asked if she could find the HVAC business in the contact list and dial the number for me. She looked at me oddly. I had to change my wording to something she understood. I said that I would appreciate her to get the number for the HVAC company and please make the phone call. She laughed and said she knew what I meant, and it was that I was still thinking about dialing instead of just tapping the keys that had her laughing. I didn’t care how the HVAC company was called, I just wanted them called and to have my air conditioning unit properly serviced. Five minutes later, she made the phone call, and I had the appointment set for two weeks later.
