So we’ve owned our home for just over 15 years.
And we love where we live.
It’s been a great house and a wonderful home for our family. Plus, we got into it just prior to our community seeing a big spike in real estate value. That’s nice to have in our back pocket for the future. So it was the air conditioning of this house that we retreated to when the pandemic hit. I had to leave my office with the zone controlled HVAC and my wife’s part time job was eliminated. She was able to work in the air conditioning with me on some part time online stuff she found. Mainly, she was supervising the kids as they home schooled from the air conditioning as well. So here we all are depending on the HVAC cooling of our home more than ever as there is nowhere else to go. And of course, the HVAC equipment breaks down. Turns out that the heat pump will need some fairly important repairs during the year we have to cut our costs deeply. My wife and I even thought about trying to find a handyman to fix the HVAC equipment. Ultimately though, we had the HVAC professionals do the work. For one, they are trained, certified and licensed HVAC technicians who guarantee their work. That’s not going to happen with a handyman. While a handyman may be cheaper, it’s just not worth it to take a chance on getting some sort of faulty HVAC repair. Plus, there is a sense of security knowing that the heat pump is now in great shape and that HVAC repair is guaranteed.
