When I was just out of school, I interviewed with several major companies in our city.
After receiving several nice job offers, I spent a full week trying to begin negotiating with everyone before trying to decide where I could see myself working for the next several years.
The firm I ended up selecting, gave a wonderful salary, a paid vacation & they had season tickets for all the home games of our local baseball team. As a super huge baseball fan, this genuinely appealed to me! Not any of the other companies gave anything like this. It seemed like a wonderful opportunity. And i’ve been now been working here for 5 years & I’ve been to almost every baseball game with my buddies. There’s nothing much better than chilly beers, nachos, & the atmosphere of this venue. The best thing about our company tickets, is we get to be in the VIP box. Our box is constantly catered to with amazing food & drinks. There’s a private powder room too. We even have heating & air in the indoor & some outdoor seats. On really scorching & humid gamedays, I enjoy to be inside with the a/c. The box is rather small, so it doesn’t really take much for the a/c to cool everyone. The outside seats are wonderful for cooler days. There’s a shaded overhang. There’s even a few portable heating systems surrounding all the seats which are fantastic for keeping us warm. I’m spoiled with my heat & air during these baseball games. So I don’t think I can ever be in a normal venue seat again.
