My partner and I had gone away for a couple of afternoons, and only our kid knew where the people I was with and I were.

She told us she had tried to get to our house, however there were so numerous trees down that she couldn’t. She apologized for bothering us, although she didn’t want us to come home to a total mess. After she quit apologizing, the people I was with and I asked her what happened. She said that a tornado had touched down and our home was on its path. She could not assess the destruction until they had the mess cleaned up and they could get up our driveway. Both of us said the people I was with and I would be home first thing in the afternoon. Nothing she said could have prepared us for what the people I was with and I found. Our home was in enjoyable condition, however the tornado wasn’t so easy on our air conditioning unit. The only thing disfigured, other than trees downed and our garden destroyed, was that the air conditioning equipment was disfigured. It looked enjoy it had been made of paper and crumpled into a ball. I had seen nothing enjoy this in my entire life. The only thing the people I was with and I could do was call the Heating and Air Conditioning company and order a current air conditioning unit. Luckily, the people I was with and I had been mulling over getting a current AC unit. Both of us had been having some complications for the last 2 summers, and this incident made that decision for us. Although it wasn’t the perfect time for us, nature thought it was the perfect time for a current air conditioning unit, and who are the people I was with and I to argue with nature?
