When my wife and I got home after being sent home from the zone controlled HVAC of our respective offices on the same day, we were worried.
Of course, we’d been hearing about the virus for a few weeks and were sort of hoping it would be one of those things that petered out once it got here.
That had happened before so we were hopeful that this might happen again. But things progressed rapidly to where we suddenly were having to figure out just how we were going to deal with this situation. And it was just us trying to work remotely from the central air conditioning of our home. There were the kids as well. Three kids trying to do remote schooling while their parents tried to figure how to do their jobs at home wasn’t a great scenario. But it just was something that we simply had to deal with. Truthfully, I wasn’t so sure how we’d all get along being cooped up inside the heating and cooling of our home all day. At first, it was challenging finding a rhythm and a structure to our days. But what I found so remarkable was that we all felt as though we were in it together. There was a real sense of looking out for one another. Well, it took nearly 18 months until we got a chance at a new normal but we came out a family more connected. So I wanted us to remember that achievement with an HVAC bonus. I had the HVAC company come out and tweak our system to provide zone controlled HVAC throughout the house.
