At least we didn’t have to upgrade the HVAC equipment

Packing up a house and moving is the worst. And I have had to do it so many time. The business that I’m in came with lots of moving around when I first started. And that’s pretty much par for the course. It’s not like finance where you get a desk inside the zone controlled HVAC of an office building and simply move up floors as your career progresses. No, I had to move around a lot. When I was young that was fine. For one, all I did was work so living in apartments with tired HVAC equipment for a year or less wasn’t too tough. That’s because I knew that I’d be on my way to a new locale with new challenges and rewards. But socially, it took a toll. I’d get started in a relationship, try to keep it going long distance only to see it fail a few months after I moved again. So when I finally cracked the level of management where I was going to be somewhere for years, I finally found the person I’d been waiting for. We got married, bought a house and renovated it from kitchen and floors to the latest in residential HVAC. It was bliss. I loved my job and where I lived. Then it all changed in the space of a day. Turns out that the company needed me for the biggest challenge of my career. Telling my wife was tough but she also knew that this was a possibility. And she was game for a new adventure and another opportunity to renovate a house. At least we didn’t have to upgrade the HVAC equipment to get the house ready for listing.
