We’ve been living abroad for a decade, and moving back home has come with surprises.
First, we didn’t realize how easy things were where we lived and worked.
Since it was a developing nation, we always assumed things were tough there. However, coming back home has been shocking given the high cost of medical services. Recently, I had to go to the hospital for a routine procedure, and the bill was a whooping $2500. Back where we lived, that would have been a maximum of $1000 and the company was okay paying for the cost. Now, we have to make sure we handle our health insurance, and the entire process is just insane. Well, if medical bills weren’t high, going grocery shopping is a whole other experience. Everything, including eggs, is expensive. Still, we are glad to be home and have been busy fixing our home, and adding a new heating and cooling system. The house was a rental for the entire time we were away, and we were fortunate the occupants took care of the property. Now, we wanted to make a few changes to make it into a home, and this included adding a new heating and cooling business. We went online and came across this heating and cooling business in the area. They do installations, service, and repairs according to the information on their website. And the best part was they said we could call anytime when we wanted HVAC service. Since it was 6 pm, we decided to test that and true enough someone picked up and spoke with us.
