Mom and I were about to have the time of our lives.
- After I lost my job, I was in a dark place for a month or so.
Mom allowed me to move back home as I planned on my next move. But, it was hard not to feel depressed, and I stayed in my room most of the time. Mom gave me my space, and told me not to shut my feelings off. It’s okay to feel low and angry. So, I did, and after a month, I felt it was time to pick myself up. Mom planned a trip to the city for shopping, and I was so excited. I needed some new clothes, and we also planned to go for brunch. I’d also started applying for new jobs and was hopeful about the future. One of the jobs I applied for was at a HVAC company I really like. I went to their career section and saw they had an open position for an HVAC installer job. Even without hesitating, I sent them my upgraded resume since Inhad 5 years experience as an installer. They specified this was a residential HVAC installer job, and they had such an impressive package. Mom commented that it was better we were going to the city, and I’d get a new outfit for an interview. She was calling the HVAC installer job to me, and she actually made me believe I’d get it. Mom has always been like that. She says words are powerful, so you need to pick them carefully. The entire time we were in the city, I expressed how great it will be to work for the HVAC company. Come Monday morning, I got the call for an interview.
