With all of this extra heating and cooling usage, my energy bills have been skyrocketing
There are so many benefits to working remotely these days. It seems like companies are catching on, and offering that is an option to more and more employees. I think that it’s a really great and modern move. Not only does it cut down on the amount of waste of time each day, but people really should be able to feel comfortable while they’re at work. I don’t need to get in the car and commute across the city, battling traffic, to sit in a certain seat. I also don’t need to suffer from the distractions that are all around me when I’m in the office. It doesn’t help that my coworkers are really loud and that the HVAC system is really terrible there. I’m just drafted all the time, whether it’s yelling at someone or rubbing my freezing cold hands together. Recently I started working a new job, and it allows me to work from home. I love it so much. I feel like I have more time in my day and my stress levels have decreased. However, I wasn’t expecting to see my savings account decrease with this new employment. My salary is the same, so why am I losing more money? Well, it turns out that it’s from my own HVAC system. Since I’m now at home all day long, that means that I’m running the thermostat all day long. Working out of the house, I would turn off the heating and cooling system for 8 to 10 hours each day. Know I’m experiencing the indoor air in my home all the time and I want it to be comfortable. That means my smart thermostat is on the job as often as I am. With all of this extra heating and cooling usage, my energy bills have been skyrocketing. It doesn’t help that I’m Heating and Cooling an entire house while I only use one room of it. I never thought I would say this, but for the sake of my HVAC I might need to go back to the office.
