My friend lost his HVAC position

The floor was actually the ceiling to the lower floor and he went right through the roof and landed on the floor below.

Whenever I have a problem with my heating or air conditioning, I immediately call my best friend. He is one of the best HVAC technicians and he works for the top HVAC company in the area. The last time I called him, he seemed to be a bit bummed out. He came over to check out my furnace and we got talking. I asked him how long he worked for this HVAC company and he told me it would have been fifteen years. That’s when I found out that he had been fired. I immediately began to wonder if he had made a big mistake, or if he had a personal problem. As he was working on my furnace, my friend opened up and told me what was going on. He told me that he had been working on putting new ductwork in the attic of one of his clients. Apparently the attic was full of boxes and when he tried to avoid one of the boxes his foot slipped off the rafters and it went through the floor. The floor was actually the ceiling to the lower floor and he went right through the roof and landed on the floor below. No one asked if he was okay but called the HVAC company because of his carelessness. He not only spent the afternoon in the hospital for a cracked rib, but when he got back to the HVAC office, his boss fired him. I really felt bad and told him I would gladly pay him for the work today. He told me he was already applying for jobs in a couple of other HVAC companies and he was sure he would have a job shortly.
