I do own one cat and it is clear that I am a weird cat lady.
I have nothing to care for and mess around with other than my cat. He is super spoiled and I have catered everything to him. I have a big house with nothing to fill it, so my cat now has his own room. He has a queen sized bed with the best pillows money can buy. I also got him a plush rug he can kneed and play around on. There are various shelves, cat trees and scratch posts in the room. I have his food and water bowl in the kitchen so we can eat together and his litter box in a separate area so he doesn’t have to eat or play near it. The weirdest thing is that I set my HVAC unit according to him. He’s wearing a fur coat! I have to set the thermostat a little different. In the winter I don’t crank the heat to where he gets overheated, just a nice gentle warmth. I also have the bed right underneath the ductwork so the heat directly blows on him. In the summer I go a little colder than comfortable due to my cat being covered in hair. Can you imagine trying to deal with summer heat wearing a fur coat? The poor thing! I try to encourage play and outdoor time, but funny enough he doesn’t want it. My cat loves eating, snacking and sleeping all day now. I have made it too comfortable for him.
