My child decided to accept a soccer scholarship from a school on the other side of the country.
I was a little sad and disappointed when she decided to move 3500 miles away, however I wanted him to follow her dreams and pick the school that made him ecstatic! When my child decided on a school in the southeast, I warned him about the large temperature differences and the problems with humidity.
I actually did not want to keep my child from going to that particular school, however I wanted him to be prepared. We’ve never had the need for an in our home. The summertime un-even temperatures hardly ever rise above 85 degrees. My family and I have constantly been perfectly good with a small fan in the window. The day my child left for school, the temperature at house was 62 degrees. When my child stepped off the aircraft with her luggage, the temperature was 98 degrees. I easily knew the un-even temperatures would be unbearable, so I wasn’t surprised when my child called to complain about the heat and humidity. She called every single day to complain about the heat and humidity until I finally broke down and bought the child and for her dorm room. A lot of other kids had s in their dorm room. My child begged me to buy a window A/C unit for the dorm room. After I talked with the RA, I found out that the students can have 1 in each room, since my child and her roommate did not have 1, I caved and sent 1 to the dormitory.
