Vincent had something going on, and I just knew it.
Call it intuition, although I had known the guy since we were much younger. Even though we didn’t start dating until all of us finished university, we had already been best friends for a long time. I knew him really well after such a long time. He seemed a little distracted, as if he was planning something. Then early one summer day, he woke me up early and he told me that we were going somewhere. But it was the weekend, and I had all intentions of sleeping in. He tried to get me out of bed, although I would not budge until I knew what was happening. Finally he told me this was a surprise. I laughed a little bit; I’d suspected all along he was planning something… And so finally, I dragged my body from the bed, took a quick shower, and then I got dressed and made it into the car. Later, we ended up in front of the nicest beach condo I’d ever seen… Vincent had booked the whole place for a mini summer time vacation for us. The condo was appealing, and when all of us got inside, it wasn’t too bad. However, it felt a bit uncomfortable inside due to the high humidity in the place. I felt sweat starting to drip down my back! I wanted to get cooled off. Vincent went to the temperature control to check and see if there was a dehumidifier or something available on the indoor thermostat system, and lucky for us, there was! So he turned it on. Then an hour later, the beach condo felt appealing, since the humidity was gone, thanks to the dehumidifier feature in the A/C system.
