I have pursued two different passions in life and they both vie for my attention and often are conflicting.
- One of my passions is drumming and singing in my band and the other is playing beach volleyball.
The problem I have is that some days I want to do both but I just don’t have the energy to do it. I don’t know if a lot of musicians are also athletes but it is definitely a contrast between the two and I often have a tough time deciding which one to pursue. I also have a job doing HVAC repairs, which also takes a good chunk of my energy each day. I have to do the HVAC job though because music and volleyball don’t exactly pay the bills. I do make some money teaching volleyball and busking on the streets with music but it doesn’t amount to much, maybe just enough to buy my food for the month. I would like to play music in clubs in my band in the future, which could earn some decent money. I earn a good living doing the HVAC service calls and maintenance work but I really love the other two passions. I’ll just keep practicing the music and see where it takes me. As for volleyball, I’ve been playing for 30 years and am already way past my peak. It’s just more for fun nowadays. I like installing geothermal heat pumps and solar heating in houses to help people become more earth friendly, and save some money too. I’ll just keep on pushing.
